Hard Work

I feel compelled to share a few thoughts with you, my friends.  Thoughts about working hard and determination.  As I have shared in a previous post, I love sewing.  But not all days are filled with roses!  Sometimes I'll make ten things and none of them will turn out at all like I had hoped!  I get discouraged! I feel like giving up.  I start to believe that I'll never make anything out of this endeavor and I should quit.  I'll spend several hours trying to get the smallest detail perfect and it just fails completely, time after time.  With all my energy spent, I'll want to abandon my dream.  

But something keeps me going.  Sometimes, it's that finished project 10 tries later that reignites the fire inside me to make more!  Sometimes I have to go searching for encouragement and believe it or not, I'll look up quotes about hard work and determination to push myself.  Sometimes, it's just raw will power that makes me keep going.

I had one of those nights recently where everything felt like it was falling apart and I was sure that success is something I will never achieve.  And after hours of working without results, I wanted so badly to not care anymore.  I kept telling myself that my hard work would eventually pay off.  Maybe not for a while, but some day!  In my quote search that evening, I found this...

"A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work."

So that is where I am.  I'm sweating profusely, extremely determined and working very hard!
